Question: Why was The Global House Model originally designed?
Response: The Global House Model was specifically designed, engineered, for the Hurricane, Earthquake and or Storm Prone areas of the International Community.
Question: Is the Global House Model a pre-cut panel system or stick built?
Response: No, quite the contrary. It is a site-built, permanent, house, which is designed as a Post-Frame structure that maximizes economy in construction and energy efficiency in its application. Such Post-Frame structure and design is in compliance with the standards and integrity established by The National Frame Building Association (NFBA), which was initially formed in 1969, and their Post-Frame Building Design Manual, 2nd edition, published in 2015. Please see NFBA website, www.nfba.org, for further details. In addition, we strongly urge to reference NFBA "sister" website, www.postframeadvantage.com for further details and insight as well. Within the International Markets, the anchor posts are typically 6'x6' solid sawn, anchored 2.5 feet deep, including 2”x6” pressure treated post cleats, on top of a Pre-cast 14”x6” Concrete Pad. Such anchor posts are also pressure treated, anti-termite, up to 18" above the ground. Thus, the skirt board is pressure treated as well.
Question: Are all Global House Models exterior shell only?
Response: No. The Global House incorporates a strong, 29 gauge, Galvalume exterior wall and roof, wrapped around the aforementioned, strong, very durable, Post-Frame construction. Which includes framing, exterior doors and windows. In addition, it also includes the interior rough wall framing. The exterior walls and ceilings would be lined with ½” Thermal 3Ht insulation.
An enhanced Insulation Package (6” TextraFine) is available, Option#1 (High Efficiency Insulation Option), at an additional costs.
Question: Are interior walls and doors included?
Response: Interior wall framing is included. No Drywall included. Interior doors can be added, if desired, at an additional cost. For such interior doors and trim, there is an interior finish option available, “Interior Finishing Option,” again, at an additional cost.
Question: Are the wood materials pressure, anti-termite, treated?
Response: Yes. The wood materials with direct contact with the ground and up to 18" above the ground are in fact pressure, anti-termite, treated. Within the International market, such wood materials can be ordered as all pressure treated for an additional costs if so desired.
Question: Are the Global House Models “Hurricane Proof?”
Response: While there is no such concept as a “Hurricane Proof” house, nonetheless, we are proud to state, that our Global House Model, within the International market, is in fact designed that all such Bracing, to specifically include Corner Braces, Wind Braces, Bottom Chord Braces, Web Braces and Vertical Sway Braces can withstand wind loads of up to 150 m.p.h. (which includes a Category 4, Major Hurricane).
Question: What type of nail, fastener, is utilized within all Global House Models?
Response: Typically, a 4” – 6” Galvanized Ring-Shank nails are used for the girts and purlins. We choose to utilize such nails, made from stiffer stock steel so the shanks can be smaller in diameter to help reduce wood splitting without bending.
In addition, such Ring and Spiral-Shanked nails provide exceptional holding power or “withdraw value.”
Independent testing have proven such Ring-Shank nails have approximately 3 – 4 times more the “withdrawal value” in comparison to alternative options, such as a screw (spiral) shank nail. Please visit the following website for such independent testing results:

Question: Does the Base Price include flooring for the first floor?
Response: No. Within the International Market, there is no concrete slab foundation. For those Global House Models that include a second floor, there would be plywood covering, partially, the second floor.
Question: What about Plumbing functionality? Does the Base Price include bathroom and or kitchen fixtures?
Response: No. The Base Price does not include traditional bathroom and or kitchen fixtures. Specifically, to have such bath and or kitchen fixtures installed would require the purchase of the applicable Kitchen Fixture Option and or Bathroom Fixture Option. The Base Price does include the installation of Rough Plumbing, PVC Pipe, for water supply and drains. Such Rough Plumbing installation would make it possible to receive, adhere to, such Kitchen and or Bath Fixtures, if purchased separately.
Question: What about Electrical functionality?
Response: Base Price will include Load Center and wiring, Switches, receptacles and boxes for all rooms.
Question: How does the Global House Model do with International Shipping?
Response: Extremely well. As a result, we can ship to anywhere in the world. Typically, within the International Markets, we can fit up to three (3) Global Houses per shipping container. The FOB would be Nappanee, IN.
Question: How does the price of the Global House Models compare to conventional construction?
Response: Within the International market, with the broad variety of construction, absence of any real building standards, there really is no such thing as "conventional residential construction," thus, there is really little that compares with our STRONG, ENERGY-EFFICIENT, Global House product.
Question: Where does the set-up of the construction of such Global House Models take place? How fast can they be constructed?
Response: The houses are constructed on site. The set-up is simple, teachable, and efficient which provides for a fail-safe, consistent, repeatable, assembly process. Thus, four (4) people, usually, can construct such STRONG, ENERGY-EFFICIENT Global House Products, within only three (3) days.
Question: How are the local people trained to construct such Global House Models?
Response: Team training can be accomplished on site within the respective geographic community. Thereby, employment opportunities are created within the respective geographic community being developed.
